NORA to Auction More Than 140 Properties Citywide

The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) will make more than 140 properties available through an upcoming citywide online auction, creating new opportunities for residents, property owners and developers to invest in neighborhoods across New Orleans.

The auction will feature more than 100 residential lots and 40 Non-Housing Development Option Lots and is open to the public.

Auction Details

Tuesday, September 29 – Wednesday, September 30, 2026

Online bidding opens at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, and concludes on Wednesday, September 30, with bidding on individual properties ending between noon and 6 p.m.

Minimum Bid: $4,000 per property
Property Condition: Properties are sold “AS-IS, WHERE-IS”
Eligibility: Open to the public

Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend NORA’s Buyer’s Seminar to learn more about the auction process, property requirements and purchasing procedures.

What Bidders Need to Know

Winning bidders must close on their properties within 30 calendar days following the auction. Financing will not be accepted as a contingency, so bidders should have any necessary financing or pre-approval secured before bidding.

Winning bidders must also complete construction or rehabilitation of the property within 18 months of closing. Buyers are responsible for maintaining the property in accordance with the City of New Orleans Code of Ordinances beginning immediately after closing and throughout the development or construction period.

Buyers whose existing property is directly adjacent to a lot acquired through the auction may use the acquired property as green space, subject to applicable requirements.
