DEVELOPMENT OF 1600 NORTH CLAIBORNE AVENUE

The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) is seeking qualifications and proposals from entities interested in the development of a residential, commercial, or mixed-use project at the development site named 1600 N Claiborne Avenue, which consists of eight lots: 1600, 1610, 1622, 1626, 1634, 1636 N Claiborne Avenue, 1505 St Bernard Avenue and 1611 N Robertson St. Development shall be in accordance with the zoning of the properties. 

NORA’s mission and goal is to facilitate the redevelopment of these properties and to create a positive impact on the neighborhood. NORA seeks to make available these properties for affordable and mixed-income housing and economic development, specifically in connection with the development of attractive, energy efficient, hazard-resilient, and durable buildings that are compatible with the existing neighborhood fabric and serve neighborhood needs. 

An optional informational meeting will be held online, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. (CDT). Respondents are encouraged to attend this meeting, during which time NORA staff will discuss the application process and redevelopment requirements and answer questions.

Respondents must submit their complete application electronically via a shared folder in Microsoft OneDrive, a cloud-based file sharing platform. NORA will not accept hard copy submissions at this time. The deadline to submit complete applications to the assigned shared folder is no later than Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. (CDT). Only complete applications in accordance with the guidelines contained herein will be reviewed. 

 

NORA reserves the right to cancel any and all solicitations and to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any and all proposals for any reason or to redevelop the project by other means at NORA’s sole discretion.
