In the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative, NORA provided land and structures for the development of affordable housing through its partnership with the City of New Orleans and the Housing Authority of New Orleans. Land and structures were provided at 10% of the appraised value. Development or homebuyer subsidy was provided by the City of New Orleans Office of Community Development. Renters were required to be at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) to be eligible, while homebuyers were required to be at or below 120% AMI. NORA’s development partners are produced more than 20 affordable rental and homeownership units through the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative.
